Case Packer

Multi-Axis, Servo Motor, Cam Driven , Case Packer Application.  MechDesigner models the case motions as well as the machine actions needed to erect the case.

Trochoid

Generates a trochoid internal cam profile suitable for internal combustion engines, pumps or compressors.  The gearing and cam capability of MechDesigner allow you to generate profiles easily.  Data can be output from the graph facility for more analysis

Engine

Conjugate cams used to control valve position.  Conjugate cams remove the need for springs and so reduce the cam contact stress.  They also improve follower control giving higher maximum speeds.  The also reduce torque fluctuations in cam shaft  as energy is not returned to the drive train by a spring

Pick-and-Place Robot

Pantograph robot with translating head and rotation axis follows a precise path defined by "gantry style, piggy backed" sliders.  MechDesigner calculates the position, velocity and acceleration tables for a servo-motor to drive two axes mounted on the table to achieve the desired output motion.  Plus the motion for the rotation, of course...

Transfer machine

After a product has been stamped in a press, it must be transferred onto a continuously moving pocketed cover belt.  The motion of the product must match the conveyor during transfer.  MechDesigner calculates the cam profiles required to achieve this motion at the tooling quite easily using inverse kinematics.
