3D or 2D Animations of Existing Machines
  2D Examples 3D Examples
A high quality machine animation that integrates all your machines moving parts in to one synchronised model, that moves exactly as your machine does, can help you in a number of ways. You can:
  • determine how much time exactly your tooling has available to interact with the packaging
  • find out what the peak forces are on each of the machine bearings, gearboxes, and frame
  • determine how your packaging must fold or form and whether it should be improved
  • find out whether there are any motion design improvement opportunites that will drastically reduce machine component failure or wear and tear
  • improve your cam designs to reduce pressure angle, contact stresses, etc.
  • determine how sensitive your machine is to set-up, backlash, or dimensional tolerances
What we need for 3D or 2D animations
For us to model your machine in 3D, we need 3D CAD parts. For us to model your machine in 2D we need 2D CAD drawings. There a number of ways that these can be obtained:
  • If you already have 3D CAD parts, then we can readily prepare a 3D Animation for you
  • If you do not have a 3D model, then we can convert your 2D CAD into 3D parts for you, and then create a perfect solid animation to show you how your machine will cycle. Or we can stay with a 2D model
  • If you do not have the 2D CAD then we can create the 2D or 3D models from parts using our reverse engineering measurement arm
  • If you don't have the parts or drawings - then...
3D or 2D Animations of New Design Concepts

If you have a design concept and you would like to have a 3D animation of it prepared then please call. We can, before you commit to metal (or plastic!):

  • Turn your ideas in to a 3D or 2D moving animation that will help you sell your product or concept,
  • Help you improve the design or motion actuation so that it work better! Determine whether there will be any component clashes during its normal operation
  • Help you visualise any product design or human interaction issues that can't be determined from a static model
