The Company Directors - Kevin Stamp and Adam Peacock

Dr Kevin Stamp

  • Kevin Stamp joined the Merchant Navy in 1978, at 16, to complete an intensive and extensive 4-Year Marine Engineering Apprenticeship - learning the myriad and varied skills necessary for deep-sea sailing.
  • After 5 years he left to complete his BSc(with Honours) Degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialisms in Mechanics of Machines and Mechanics of Materials. This is where he first met the originators of Camlinks and Motion Software: Dr George Rooney and Professor John Rees Jones. His final year project investigated "Thermal Necrosis and Mechanical Damage when inserting External Fixation Pins to Femur".
  • Continuing his education, he completed a PhD in the Design of High Speed Packaging Machinery as part of the Mechanisms and Machines Group, headed by Professor John Rees Jones. This was supported by the Specially Promoted Program for the Research into High Speed Machinery.
  • With this, he joined Unilever as a Trainee Manager as a foundation member of the Machines Systems Team of the Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Group. His responsibility was to improve already installed packaging equipment by retrofitting with appropriate technology to the business region. He traveled extensively, with a significant extended stay in India as a technology transfer manager at the Engineering Manufacturing Unit, Kolharpur.
  • After, two years he was invited to join Packaging Design and Machinery Technology Center, Owings Mills, MD, USA, as an expat. While there, he was responsible for many machine design improvements by applying that special blend of improved motion design, new conceptual designs and new technology. When combined with the sites' continuous improvement initiatives, massive packing line throughput increases were delivered.
  • Returning to the UK, he took the opportunity, with Adam Peacock, of a Unilever Ventures initiative. This invited anyone with a business idea, that wasn't part of Unilever's core strategic objectives, to submit a business plan with a view to eventually leaving Unilever to drive the business. Their proposal was judged to merit top ranking out of approximately 25 proposals, and was selected. Take a look at the machine that was invented, designed, built, commissioned and installed in India - link here when page ready!!!
  • Taking the opportunity to leave Unilever, he started with Adam Peacock, a Machine Design Consultancy, PSMotion - And here he is today!
  • An active participant of the Industrial Advisory Board of King's College London
