Tools | Active Motion Settings : Advanced : X Axis : Units at Start
see also: Tools | Active Motion Settings: Advanced, Counts at Start
The X-axis units-at-start allows you to change the start value of the first segment along the X-Axis.
It is equivalent to phase-shifting the motion relative to another motion or some timing datum.

The word units is replaced in the dialogue box by the actual unit being used for the X-Axis - in the image above, you can see it is actually degree-at-start, with an actual start value of 34 degrees in this case.
The units of the X-Value will correspond to that given to the X-Units in the Active Motion Settings | Motion dialogue.
Typically, the value will be zero, and this is the default value.
Uses:
1 Multi-axis (or multi-motion) machines
When you are designing many motions for one machine, then typically, the start of the motions will be referenced off a common instant in the cycle - such as the start of an index. It is often the case that one or more of the motions will be in the middle of its motion at the reference instant. This would require an arbitrary segment split at the reference instant if the "units-at-start" setting was not available. If the "units-at-start" is used, then the motion segment will not need splitting.
