Blend-Point Editor: Y-Value: Control Buttons
see also Blend-Point Editor: Control Button Examples

Understanding how the blend-point controls work is key to making the most use out of the powerful MotionDesigner program.

This is the Blend-Point Editor pallet for Position.   You will see there are three control buttons.  The same control buttons are used for Velocity, Acceleration and Jerk.

Here is an image that helps you understand a little more about the blend-point and how it is used to specify the conditions at the blend-point

The image here shows the blend-point editor alongside a blend-point being edited by it.  I have shown different control button options for the position velocity, acceleration and jerk.
At the top is the X Value of the Blend-point being edited - here we are editing blend-point number 4 and it is at 270degrees
The position control buttons are currently set to "specify the tail of the previous segment to 30mm".
The velocity control buttons are currently set to "specify the start of the selected segment to -220mm/s"
The acceleration control buttons have been set to "specify AND match the tail of the previous segment with the start of the selected segment to 3000mm/s/s)
The jerk control buttons have set to "match the tail of the previous segment with the start of the selected segment, but not specified to any value"

The three button controls along the bottom of the image are called the
  • Blend-Point Editor: "In-Specify" Control
  • Blend-Point Editor: "Match" Control, and the
  • Blend-Point Editor: "Out-Specify" Control

These three buttons are used to control the exact motion conditions of the blend-points.
