Blend-Point Editor: X-Value
see also: Blend-Point Editor: Y Values
The X-Value of a Blend-Point corresponds to the instant on the X axis that the blend-point lies on. Editing the X values changes the timing of the motions.
The X-Value is found at the top of the Blend-Point Editor to the right of the Graphs.
You can directly change the X-Value of the Blend-Point being edited by typing in a new value or using the spin box control. You can see in the image the units of the X-Axis alongside the X - in this case it is degrees.
As you use this control, you will notice that as one segment shortens the adjacent segment simultaneously lengthens in duration, and visa-verse.
This means that as the X-Value is changed, the overall duration of the motion does NOT change.
The X-Value Location cannot be decreased or increased beyond the adjacent Blend-Points.
This is in direct contrast to the Segment Editor: X Value: Width , where, if the value is changed, the width of the segment is increased or decreased, with the overall duration of the motion also changed proportionately.
Special Case: The first Blend-Point (barely visible to the left of the graph area. Changing the value of the first blend-point, will change the length of the first and last segments, and change the start of the motion.
You can also move the whole motion start point alone, using the Tools | Settings: Advanced: X Axis: Units at Start dialogue.
